  • Knowledge of medical terminology and its applications.

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, business management, healthcare administration, or a related field is required.
  • Ten years of experience in healthcare management or a related role is required.
  • Five years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Effective presentation skills.
Responsibilities
  • Identify utilization improvement and waste reduction opportunities, focusing on safety, efficiency, and affordability, and lead initiatives to deliver results.
  • Review or oversee review of new product requests, complete clinical product cross-matches and cost analyses, coordinate product evaluations, and ensure education is completed before evaluation or permanent adoption.
  • Facilitate consensus among clinical stakeholders and determine and resolve barriers.
  • Determine acceptable clinical substitutes for recalled or backordered items and consult appropriate clinical stakeholders as needed.
  • Investigate product failures, work with vendors and internal stakeholders to determine root causes, and implement solutions.
  • Partner on quality improvement initiatives involving vendor goods and services.
  • Negotiate with vendors to achieve the best possible price and utilization of approved products, equipment, or services supporting patient care.
  • Assist in developing the annual cost reduction plan, deliver results based on the plan, and create presentations to share data and engage stakeholders in decisions.
  • Participate in planning and implementing new technologies, procedures, and services supporting day-to-day operations and clinical practice.
  • Foster relationships with Premier, Yankee Alliance, and suppliers.
  • Direct and participate in the system-wide Value Analysis process.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
  • A master's degree is a plus.
  • Supply chain experience is a plus.
