Requirements
  • Must hold an active Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license in Florida.
  • Must have at least 3 years of leadership experience in healthcare or a service-related setting.
  • Must ensure compliance with state and federal licensing regulations and accreditation programs within the area of responsibility.
  • Must have a solid understanding of the physiological and psychological aspects of gerontology.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the team of wellness professionals and serve as manager on duty when the Executive Director is away.
  • Foster clear communication among Resident Assistants, residents, and their families.
  • Act as the primary liaison with residents and family members.
  • Maintain a high standard of service in the Wellness Department through supervision, oversight, and delegation.
  • Establish rapport among Wellness team members to facilitate collaboration and teamwork.
  • Recruit and select new members for the Wellness Team.
  • Oversee Health and Wellness team members, including training, performance management, coaching, and evaluations.
  • Ensure all staff complete mandatory training.
  • Monitor licensure and certification compliance and enforce safety regulations, including fire protection and infection control.
  • Oversee compliance with the Medication Aide program.
  • Provide written and oral reports to the Executive Director and Regional Director of Operations.
  • Coordinate health care services with third-party providers.
  • Manage the Wellness Department budget.
  • Verify completion of medical forms and assess residents for required levels of care.
  • Oversee medication administration.
  • Work with residents’ attending physicians to ensure quality service.
  • Submit budget, equipment, and supply recommendations to the Executive Director.
  • Ensure adequate staffing patterns within authorized hour guidelines.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment for day-to-day operations.
  • Uphold confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
  • Investigate complaints, grievances, and incidents in collaboration with the Executive Director.
Desired Qualifications
  • An active Registered Nurse license and degree are preferred.
