Requirements
  • Engineering or technical degree from a university of recognized standing
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience
  • Experience with supervision, oversight and plant site maintenance resulting in increased efficiencies and the customization of specialized teams to enhance overall performance
  • Experience with leadership of bargaining unit staff (definite asset)
  • Extensive experience in managing multi-million-dollar operating budgets
  • Extensive exposure and experience with human performance tools for utilities to reduce the human error rate and subsequent lost generation and equipment damage
  • At least 5 years commercial nuclear power plant experience, including serving in a leadership position at a commercial nuclear power plant site at department head level as a minimum, with demonstrated experience improving engineering performance at a plant site
  • Achievement of engineering license (Canadian Professional Engineer or United States Professional Engineer)
  • P.Eng registration with PEO or equivalent required
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership of a significant engineering department
  • Demonstrated knowledge of INPO / WANO fundamentals and practices
  • Plant management experience with exposure to day-to-day operations and oversight
  • Think with a global perspective in the internal and external environment
  • Advanced knowledge and capabilities in executing initiatives which improve equipment reliability index, and the performance of Operations & Maintenance and capital projects for nuclear utilities
  • Hands on experience with efficiency reviews, monitoring and process improvement implementation resulting in improved equipment reliability and site performance
  • Involvement and knowledge of the development of the post Fukushima strategies and subsequent capital projects
  • Comprehensive experience with the safety and operational aspects of commercial reactors
  • Training experience to develop and execute increased process improvements through the development of programs to address the improvement of work control and efficiency practices
  • Highly developed safety background with extensive knowledge of nuclear safety practices and requirements through site specific experience and operations focus
  • Highly developed capability in the area of costing, scheduling and the overall management of utility operational projects
  • Highly motivated and results oriented self-starter with strong engineering and people management skills and experience
  • People oriented with strong business acumen and an innate ability to establish a high degree of credibility with staff and clients

Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Oversight responsibility for Design of Monark reactor including Design authority delegated from Chief Nuclear Engineer
  • Leadership and sponsoring of Engineering improvement activities to support business plan and financial goals
  • Manage the mentoring and coaching of staff, including development and execution of improvement plans, regular feedback, and succession planning
  • Must have strong people skills and demonstrated ability to lead with the highest standard of respect, ethics, and professionalism
  • Manage all department resources within business plan and financial targets
  • Responsible for negotiation and communication with Project Partners with respect to Configuration Management requirements and work Processes

AtkinsRéalis Group, a world-class engineering services and nuclear company, reported fourth-quarter revenue of $2.9 billion, up 13% year-over-year, with full-year revenue reaching $11.0 billion, up 14%. AtkinsRéalis Services revenue increased 17% in Q4 and 16% for the full year. The company achieved diluted earnings per share from Professional Services & Project Management of $2.14 for 2025, up 80%, whilst adjusted diluted EPS reached $3.36, up 88%. Full-year operating cash flow totalled $461 million, and backlog reached a record $21.2 billion as at 31 December 2025. For 2026, AtkinsRéalis expects Engineering Services Regions organic revenue growth of 5-7% and Nuclear revenue of approximately $2.5 billion. Operating cash flow is projected at roughly $500 million.

Ferrovial Buys 5.06% 407 ETR Stake

Ferrovial is set to increase its stake in 407 ETR to 48.29% by acquiring up to 5.06% from AtkinsRéalis for [CAD]2.09 billion. The deal includes a 3.30% acquisition at closing and a 1.76% deferred stake via a put and call option.
