Requirements
  • Extensive experience, typically 10+ years, in software engineering, with a proven track record of architecting and delivering complex, scalable web applications.
  • Deep, system-level expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and React, with the ability to reason about the entire stack from the database to the browser.
  • A history of leading complex technical projects and making critical architectural decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
  • Drive the technical vision and architecture for the core product, working closely with the machine learning team to integrate new artificial intelligence features.
  • Lead the design and execution of large-scale technical projects, such as evolving the monorepo strategy or migrating a core service to a new architecture.
  • Mentor other senior engineers through code reviews and architectural guidance, and establish best practices.
  • Partner with product and engineering leadership to identify and de-risk technical challenges in the product roadmap for the next 1-2 years.
  • Practice trunk-based development with daily releases.
  • Maintain a comprehensive Cypress end-to-end test suite and enforce strict typing, linting, and formatting rules.
  • Deploy to Amazon Web Services via Kubernetes using a continuous integration and continuous delivery pipeline, with infrastructure managed as code using Terraform.
  • Participate in open discussion, constructive code reviews, and collaborative technical decision-making.
