Requirements
  • Basic mathematical skills are required.
  • Basic computer experience is required.
  • Blow-mold experience is required.
  • Completion of Altium Production/Machine Operator training is required within 90 days of the hire date.
  • The employee must frequently stand, walk, use hands to grasp, handle, or feel, and reach with the hands and arms.
  • The employee must occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Personal protective equipment is required in the production department and other designated areas.
  • Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate safe work practices by wearing the correct personal protective equipment and following safety policies.
  • Adhere to the work schedule and demonstrate punctuality.
  • Work effectively with others in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes within the plant.
  • Adhere to company general manufacturing policies.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of clutter.
  • Receive an introduction to preventive maintenance, molds, necks, blow pins, and other mechanical changes.
  • Operate blow-mold, polyethylene terephthalate, and injection molding machines, including wheel, reciprocating, and shuttle machines, to produce quality bottles.
  • Adhere to quality-control requirements and blow-mold process procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process problems.
  • Perform bottle inspections, including drop tests for designated lines.
  • Inspect bottle quality during production, packaging, and labeling.
  • Perform audits, weight checks, and quality checks.
  • Adjust machines or processes to meet product specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on blow-mold and support equipment.
  • Immediately escalate bottle abnormalities, defects, and quality issues.
  • Monitor packaging-material supply levels and replenish materials as needed.
  • Pick up dropped bottles and place them into bins or, when needed, into a grinder.
  • Ensure correct product labeling, bottle descriptions, and packaging according to customer requirements.
  • Move finished goods to the designated area.
  • Prepare and document daily production reports, including rejects, regrinds, and line efficiencies.
  • Prepare maintenance-request forms and document equipment repairs.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
Desired Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
