Requirements
  • Experienced Automotive Technicians with 3-5 years of experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Automotive Technical training or Trade School degree strongly preferred
  • Valid Driver's License in applicable state (or ability to obtain upon relocation) and a good driving record
  • Strong Mechanical & Electrical diagnostic aptitude and willingness to learn and absorb Shift training required
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills required
  • Excellent Customer Service skills required
  • Individual must have their own basic automotive tool set
  • ASE Certifications strongly preferred
  • Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
  • $22 - $31 per hour depending on experience, certifications, and education
Responsibilities
  • Diagnoses problems in the ignition, electrical, and engine management by visual inspection and use of testing devices such as oscilloscope, voltmeter and ammeter
  • Performs diagnostic work accurately according to daily work orders as received from management including:
  • Emission control systems
  • Throttle body injection
  • Electrical problems on computerized vehicles
  • Conditions between computer, ignition, and mechanical problems
  • Anti-lock brake systems
  • Cruise control
  • All non-computerized accessories
  • Drivability problems
  • On-board computer problems
  • Import fuel injection
  • Import ignition on computerized vehicles
  • Auto transmissions
  • Computerized A/C systems
  • Repairs or replaces defective wiring
  • Adjusts ignition timing and measures and adjusts distributor breaker-point gaps
  • Tests and repairs starters, generators and distributors
  • Rebuilds electrical units, such as starters, generators and door controls
  • Performs other duties as assigned
