Requirements
  • BSc or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Theoretical background in Distributed Systems and/or Database Management Systems
  • At least 2 years of practical experience in Software Engineering
  • At least 1 year of experience contributing to the development and operation of scalable, distributed production systems - including component level system design
  • Experience at mitigating and diagnosing customer-impacting issues
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills, including technical writing
  • Track record of effectively working with stakeholders across job functions (e.g., product/design)
Responsibilities
  • Capture requirements and define scope of work for new software components/features or significant improvements with guidance and support from Senior/Staff engineers and other stakeholders (product managers, engineering leadership, etc.)
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of robust software components
  • Operate large-scale, distributed systems including root cause analysis of defects and support mitigation in case of outages under the guidance of call leaders
  • Adhere to engineering and operational best practices and processes for the team, make improvement suggestions and/or help implement improvements
  • Take ownership of component-level software delivery, including setting and meeting milestones and stakeholder communication
