Requirements
  • 3 years of F/A-18 E/F experience and with inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, removals, and repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.
  • Must be familiar with IETM’s, as well as the NAMP 4790, and applicable NAVAIR technical publications.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform such tasks as preventive maintenance, testing of bomb racks, missile launchers, rocket launchers, handling equipment, loading equipment, aircraft guns.
  • Understanding of basic aviation theory and skills, along with electronic troubleshooting.
  • Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and electrical weapons and ordnance systems on aircraft.
  • Servicing ammunition and launching devices.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active secret DOD clearance.
  • Must have the ability to work flexible schedules to accommodate customer maintenance requirements.
  • Must be able to clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
  • Will be required to comply with all rules and regulations concerning health and safety, tool control, FOD control, and all training and certification requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, aircraft equipment, drop tanks, pylons, components, and systems in accordance all applicable directives.
  • Assist in a combination of responsibilities including complex mechanical duties in all fields of specialization for the flight line, including power plant, run-in plumbing, hydraulics, rigging, and controls, and structures and surfaces on the complete airplane.
  • Perform mechanical and operational duties for pre-flight and post-flight service and inspection and/or in preparation of customer acceptance of completed airplanes.
  • Perform operations such as disassembling, repairing, replacing, rechecking, testing, re-rigging, servicing, and re-installing as necessary.
  • Operate aircraft power plants and ground equipment during acceptance checks, troubleshooting and routine maintenance of aircraft.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions/defects and schedule/modify maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain practical knowledge of certified aircraft and ground support systems such as controls, fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, fire control and armament components.
