Job Description
As Biz Dev Director, you’ll help drive the very life blood of any agency – bringing in new revenue from new clients and putting our agency name up in lights.
You will report directly to our SVP, Commercial Sales.
Business Development (70%)
- Create and manage our ongoing business development plan
- Manage our new business structure and team
- including running team meetings and inspiring team members in their work
- Liaise with each Division Head – with specific focus on target revenue & sectors
- Work with Division Heads on ’productizing’ their division
- Including helping to develop materials for external marketing
- Serve as the representative of MKTG S+E internally (across Dentsu) and externally
- Work as initial liaison point with our property sales side (Dentsu Sports International)
- Manage in-bound and proactive pitch opportunities (RFI and RFP process)
- Manage agency case studies, credentials decks & sizzle reels
- Manage an allotted six-figure business development budget
Marketing (30%)
- Create and implement annual agency marketing plan together with our Managing Director
- Oversee of all internal and external marketing materials across the agency, including all traditional and digital channels (website, Instagram & LinkedIn)
- Assess final voice, tone and consistency across agency together with our creative dept.
- Coordinate our expertise and external voice of agency at key conferences and external events
- Develop contacts across sports & business publications
- Assist in managing marketing events, such as our annual Super Bowl party
- Manage Agency Award entries across the year
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an agency setting
- Minimum 5 years experience leading the development of major new pitches, bringing together different parts of the business into a cohesive and collaborative group
- You are a highly energized and proactive networker, plugged into the sports and entertainment world
- You have a strong view on our tone of voice and output as an agency
- You will work directly with the Managing Director, to own the agency position and outward marketing across all channels and engagements
We love smart, curious people with eclectic backgrounds who are culturally connected. Whilst we don’t need a sports fanatic, an understanding of the space and a relevant contacts book across brands and properties is critical mentality.
This is a hybrid position, with the main office location being in New York City.
Travel is required for the role. You will spend approximately 15-20% of your time on the road (inclusive of sports & entertainment events, client meetings, MKTG S&E & Dentsu offices)
