As a Benefits Lead - USA, you serve as a subject matter expert and play a leading role in administering and supporting the Arc’teryx employee experience through our US benefits plans, leaves, wellness and retirement programs. You support the full cycle of program design, delivery and implementation, administration, communication, and reporting, as well as policy development and process improvements.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open hybrid remote work. This role can be hired fully remotely. Business operations occur in Pacific Time zone. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States or Canada.

If you were in the Benefits Lead – USA role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Contributing to the design, delivery and implementation of the company’s employee total wellbeing programs related to group health and dental benefits, wellness, leaves and absences, retirement, recognition and additional perquisites
- Performing mandatory filing and testing as required by the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and IRS
- Providing consultation to key internal stakeholders, including Arc’teryx People & Culture team, business partners and Amer Sports partners on a program awareness, policies and best practices
- Building strong rapport and managing escalations from all employee benefits tickets with key internal and external stakeholders to identify timely solutions and process improvement
- Providing recommendations on technical ticketing system efficiencies/automation and determine effectiveness or benefits categories based on data extracts and reporting, SLA’s and evolving programs and perquisites
- Reviewing data and feedback from employee listening channels including surveys and diversity councils to provide recommendations on employee education campaigns, curated communication and program adjustments
- Identifying gaps in available programs and makes recommendations based on outcomes of employee listening channels and external benchmarking data to maintain Arc’teryx’ position as an employer of choice
- Regularly auditing and reporting on program performance, trends, employee data integrity and provides costing analysis and impacts of future programs
- Managing case escalations from disability management programs (Short-Term and Long-Term) with a high degree of sensitivity, partnering with business partners, people leaders and health and safety on program requirements and return to work accommodations
- Providing internal Payroll and HRIS teams direction on program configurations and accurate employee and employer premiums calculations and top-up payments
- Actively participating and leading benefits projects, including annual open enrollment and implementations including Human Resources Information System (HRIS) such as Workday and ADP. Lead testing and configuration requirements
- Participating in other total rewards projects and duties, as assigned
Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
- Developing the communication strategy, tools and employee self-service resources and assets to enhance the awareness and understand of the company’s benefits and total wellbeing programs
- Leading the implementation and championing the usage of new benefit programs and or policy changes. Collaborate with internal and external partners to propose market leading programs that are authentic to Arc’teryx
- Regularly reviewing internal and external carrier process improvements to better support a seamless employee experience
- Regularly reporting and audit of data related to enrollments, program utilization and projected costing for annual budget cycles and other initiatives
Are you our next Benefits Lead - USA?
- You have a post-secondary education in Human Resources or Business (or the equivalent experience), with a minimum of 5 years’ working experience with a United States or global benefits environment
- You have a strong knowledge of United States benefits-related legislation, with the ability to learn and understand emerging United States and global regulations including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA and Section 125 (Cafeteria Plan) in accordance with the IRS
- You have or are working towards a CEBS GBA 1 and GBA 2 (US Curriculum) or CBP (Certified Benefits Professional)
- You possess strong vendor and relationship management skills
- You have a good understanding of benefit program processes, benefit plan details and government mandated benefits
- You have strong analytical skills, with the ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
- You have a mindset of continuous improvement, and you challenge the status quo, implementing process improvements as possible
- You have a strong customer service orientation, able to establish collaborative working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- You can handle sensitive and confidential information in an appropriate manner.
