  • High School Diploma or associate degree required
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation manufacturing, or quality assurance
  • Comprehension of AS9100 or ISO 9001 standard
  • ASQ certification preferred
  • Experience with programming and operation of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), inspection of machine components, and performance of gauge R&R studies is desirable
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate inspection workload according to priorities, efficiency, and cost effectiveness
  • Train new Inspectors
  • Functional/Delegate POC for Inspections tasks in the system (ERP/MES)
  • Perform Inspection duties utilizing engineering drawings and orders, work instructions, technical specifications, QA procedures and instructions, and other related documents
  • Perform preliminary and progressive inspections of aircraft structure and systems, verify functional operation, final inspections, inspect for FOD and verify paperwork. Witness, verify and document manufacturing process steps
  • Conduct quality reviews and establish traceability of supplier documentation such as certificates of conformance, material/special process certifications, and inspection/test reports
  • Work with supplier/internal quality assurance team for issues related to suppliers found on the shopfloor
  • Initiate nonconforming material reports
  • Ensure the proper use and storage of area tools and measurement equipment
  • Monitor and report on quality Inspection performance
  • Promote awareness of quality requirements, goals, objectives, and best practices
  • Conduct work in a manner that enhances own/other employees health and safety, product safety and promotes risk reduction; participates openly in safety related event investigations and immediately report hazards and make suggestions for control of such
