  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • A valid driver's license and ability to pass motor vehicle records check
  • Background checks and clearances required: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check, and the National Sex Offender Registry Clearance (NSOR); additional clearances may be necessary if you resided outside of Pennsylvania in the past five years
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
  • This position requires the ability and willingness to travel for recruitment activities and related duties
Responsibilities
  • Deliver public presentations to promote the Schreyer Honors College’s mission and programs
  • Conduct recruitment activities virtually and in person
  • Represent Penn State and the Schreyer Honors College at national recruitment events including college fairs, high school visits, and receptions
  • Provide strategic analysis and recommendations for admissions and recruitment initiatives
  • Collaborate with Public Relations and Alumni teams on communications
  • Contribute to annual reporting and budget planning for admissions
  • Assist with the annual application process for incoming first-year scholars
  • Make independent and joint selection decisions
  • Support faculty and staff in reviewing applications and evaluating credentials
  • Interpret admissions policies to help meet enrollment goals
  • Help plan and evaluate on-campus and virtual recruitment events
  • Participate in tabling sessions, group presentations, and individual meetings with prospective students and families
  • Advise and train student workers involved in recruitment and admissions support
  • Lead orientation programs for new scholars, serve as a primary contact for students and families, and participate in college events and committees
  • After training, work with software including Slate, Microsoft Office 365, and FileMaker
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in university admissions or a related higher education setting is preferred
