About the Role
As a Career Prep Fellow, Uber will help you take your skills to the next level in partnership with professionals in the field. This 7-month program consists of five virtual workshops. Topics will vary for each session covering a range of competencies such as: technical interview skills, insights into how top engineers succeed, communication and self-marketing skills, engineering competencies, and so much more.
Mock interviews and homework assignments are required as part of the program to help expand your technical knowledge. You’ll also be paired 1x1 with an Uber Engineer who will serve as your Mentor and guide throughout the duration of the program. You’ll also have ample opportunities to meet with members of Uber’s employee resource groups who will also be a huge part of your success in this one of a kind experience!
All Uber Career Prep Fellows will be given the opportunity to interview for a paid summer 2024 internship position at the end of this 7-month program, assuming all program requirements are met.
Due to COVID-19 and the inability to guarantee approval of tourist visas, instruction for the 2023 program will be fully virtual.
Qualifications
- College Students in the US, Canada, Brazil, or Mexico graduating in 2025 or 2026
- Community College Transfer Applicant (Will start a 4-year program by Fall 2023)
- Major or concentration in Computer Science or another closely related field
- Demonstrate dedication to Uber Career Prep’s mission (you can review the mission above at the top of this page)
- Passion and drive to be successful in the tech industry (this will be assessed via application questions and program interviews)
