JOB PURPOSE
In this role, you will be a part of a team with the Omni technology portfolio that is dedicated to crafting the future landscape of athlete care technologies to serve our Agents and Athletes. As a Lead Software Engineer at DICK’S you will:
Collaborate with leaders to build and deliver on technical roadmaps for large technical initiatives.
You have demonstrated history of technical leadership and mentorship, preferably in the customer service industry.
You will be part of a cross functional product team responsible for leading the design, development, and contributor to the overall software development lifecycle.
You will serve as a technical mentor and hands on engineer leading technical design, code reviews and pair programming efforts with your team.
As a technical leader you will guide your team to the most technically sound solution following enterprise standards and practices while translating the business requirements to a value production solution.

Advanced and Predictive Analytics: Support the creation of well-defined road maps that align predictive analytics projects with business needs, leading functional teams in the implementation and ongoing use of advanced and predictive analytics’ software tools and functionalities.
Data Exploration: Lead the performance and integration of advanced Machine Learning & Predictive analytics to promote understanding of different business areas or critical business challenges/opportunities.
Data and Analytics Strategy: Lead the implementation of data and analytics strategy by developing a data insights integration approach and process aligned to key business processes and decisions
Data Architecture: Implement all aspects of data architecture, turning event analytics, raw application data, and business systems into key business insights.
Continuously learn modern software design and development core practices, utilizing articles, conferences, tech talks, etc.
Engineers at this level can deliver complex tasks to production, working independently when required.
They use best practices in high quality code and continue to push and share their knowledge.
Review and discuss code with engineering peers and leaders to understand best practices and optimal design patterns
Take the initiative to drive new ideas and projects
Understand the business context of the larger domain and potentially other domain areas
Able to advocate and evangelize specific technologies within and outside the wider organization
Able to support and mentor seasoned technologists in a structured manner and ad-hoc

RESPONSIBILITIES
Software Development
Own development of the most complex existing and new software by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement within assigned product team. Develop software that is fast, secure and reliable to meet defined requirements.
Software Maintenance
Monitor, identify, and correct the most complex software defects to maintain fully functioning software within the product team.
Design and Conceptualization
Own work with cross-functional teams to conceptualize products and services, leveraging data to drive original design ideas and decisions for assigned product team.
Technical Developments Recommendation
Discuss and recommend more complex or innovative solutions to better meet users’ and/or business, performance, quality needs.
Software Roadmap
Own a roadmap map to facilitate software development and ensure the development work is prioritized in line with business requirements.
Faults Diagnosis and Correction
Find root cause and resolution to limit and address issues promptly.
Work Scheduling and Allocation
Develop medium- or long-term work schedules that enable the organization to achieve its business goals. Involves coordinating across multiple teams.
Functional/Technical Requirements
Support the collection functional requirements using document analysis and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
Technical Persistence Layer/Legacy Database Design/Development
Lead design of complex database resources and provide physical modeling and design services to tune database solutions for optimum performance across multiple programs/domains.
Ongoing Learning and Development
Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team. Develop and maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
Program/Portfolio Management Support
Contribute to the management of a portfolio of programs within assigned product team while reporting to and in partnership with senior teammates.
Data Architecture
Drive design, implementation, and evolution of robust and effectively aligned architecture solutions that operate in the product ecosystem.
Database Specifications
Approve database specifications, ensuring all agreed standards and protocols are followed and data integrity is preserved.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
6-10 years of experience
7-12 months experience of generalist supervision of junior colleague
Targeted Pay Range: $95,200.00 - $158,800.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
