Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in software or SaaS asset management, IT vendor management, business systems, IT or enterprise applications, or IT procurement, with clear ownership of license and vendor work.
  • A track record of license rightsizing, renewal negotiation, tool consolidation, and measurable savings.
  • Experience owning negotiations and interpreting licensing models, including consumption- or usage-based pricing, artificial-intelligence pricing, true-ups, and contract terms.
  • Experience running SaaS discovery, utilization, and license management at scale through a commercial platform, self-built pipelines, or both, with informed judgment about when to buy and when to build.
  • Experience building with large language model or agent workflows, integration-platform-as-a-service tools, and scripts against SaaS application programming interfaces such as Python; uses artificial-intelligence tools daily.
  • Experience with identity governance, including single sign-on, Security Assertion Markup Language, OpenID Connect, and System for Cross-domain Identity Management through Okta or Entra, and understanding how access drives license consumption.
  • Experience evaluating and governing artificial-intelligence tools and interpreting artificial-intelligence vendor data terms.
  • Experience building utilization and forecast models and partnering with Finance, Procurement, Security, and tool owners.
Responsibilities
  • Own the single source of truth for every SaaS and AI application, including licenses, entitlements, owners, integrations, and dependencies, kept current through automated discovery.
  • Track utilization against entitlements, reclaim inactive and duplicate licenses, and rightsize the portfolio against explicit cost-avoidance targets.
  • Identify shadow IT, shadow AI, expense-report purchases, self-serve signups, and free-tier tools, and bring each under management with an owner, risk posture, and renewal date.
  • Manage usage- and token-based pricing and forecast volatile AI spend that per-seat license counts miss.
  • Own the commercial and governance substrate for AI tools, including the sanctioned-versus-restricted catalog, licensing, and spend.
  • Enforce AI vendor terms commercially, including training-on-data, data retention, confidentiality, and model-change clauses in contracts and renewals, with risk and compliance review owned by Security and Legal.
  • Build agentic workflows for discovery, license reclamation, renewal tracking, and provisioning, with a human in the loop where judgment is required.
  • Own software and SaaS vendor relationships, including roadmap input, escalations, service-level agreements, and performance reviews.
  • Build and run a single front door for software and AI requests with paved paths that encode security, privacy, and spend policy.
  • Own the renewals calendar across the full portfolio and surface renewals well ahead of deadlines.
  • Partner with Procurement on strategic, high-spend negotiations and own commercial terms and true-ups across the long tail.
  • Run FinOps for software and AI spend by consolidating overlapping tools, retiring unused tools, and executing decommissioning, contract wind-down, license teardown, and access removal.
  • Manage SaaS configuration as code where possible in an auditable and version-controlled manner, remediating operational drift.
  • Build integrations against SaaS APIs for discovery, utilization data, reclamation, and provisioning.
  • Onboard every application to single sign-on and System for Cross-domain Identity Management as part of intake, and drive license reclamation from joiner, mover, and leaver signals.
  • Own SaaS-related SOC 2 evidence and third-party application governance as the system owner.
  • Report utilization, savings, renewal pipeline, AI spend, and compliance to IT leadership and Finance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience at a legal, financial, or otherwise regulated or high-trust company.
  • Experience establishing a FinOps practice and exposure to procurement and finance systems including Zip, Coupa, NetSuite, and Workday or Adaptive.
  • Experience building process and tooling from scratch at a fast-scaling company.
  • ITIL, FinOps Certified Practitioner, or ServiceNow CIS-SAM certification.

Legora acquires litigation startup Wexler in fifth deal since January

Legora has acquired litigation startup Wexler, whose software helps lawyers reconstruct cases from thousands of documents by tracing statements back to source evidence and identifying conflicts. The acquisition marks Legora's fifth since January as it competes with rival Harvey to dominate the law firm market. London-based Wexler had raised $7 million and secured clients including HSF Kramer, Goodwin Procter, and Clifford Chance. The company claims its software cuts manual document review time by 75 per cent. Wexler cofounder Gregory Mostyn said the startup wasn't seeking a sale but chose to join Legora's platform of over 1,500 customers. Legora was valued at $5.5 billion in March, whilst Harvey is worth $11 billion. The deal reflects consolidation in legal tech as law firms select long-term software partners following years of testing chatbots and other tools.

London's AI talent war heats up as US startups Cursor, Legora and Lovable expand into UK

London's status as Europe's leading tech hub is drawing rapid expansion from fast-growing startups including Cursor, Legora and Lovable. However, their arrival presents challenges for UK homegrown scaleups. The influx of these companies intensifies competition for AI talent in the city, potentially creating recruitment difficulties for established British technology firms. As these startups establish operations in London, they join an increasingly crowded market vying for the same pool of skilled workers. The development highlights London's appeal to international tech companies whilst simultaneously putting pressure on domestic scaleups to compete for personnel in an already competitive labour market.
