Requirements
  • At least 5 years of related experience in a machining or manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with machining, programming using M&G code, and computer-aided manufacturing software, specifically Gibbs; high-temperature alloy experience is desirable.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data.
  • Ability to respond professionally to common inquiries or complaints from customers and members of the business community.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with all members of the workforce.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to supervisory oversight of machinists and to assist with planning and tracking core goals for the Manufacturing Manager.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions while interpreting varied information and data and dealing with variables.
  • Time and project management skills related to workflow and scheduling in support of business objectives.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, email, presentations, flow charts, and an enterprise resource planning system, specifically Epicor.
  • Ability to prioritize safety and ensure that all environmental, health, and safety procedures align with company values.
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed, stand for extended periods, move frequently, lift 25–50 pounds, and work in an industrial setting with loud noise and occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals while using required personal protective equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Front Line Product Leader for the Centerline area and act as a liaison among machinists, scheduling, and Operations.
  • Influence process and planning decisions using knowledge and explanations of manufacturing processes.
  • Supervise the shop floor and teach and coach machinists and programmers.
  • Promote and reinforce daily safety and quality standards.
  • Teach, coach, and train machinists and programmers.
  • Manage daily workflow.
  • Support and assess needs for job preparation.
  • Coordinate machine and equipment maintenance.
  • Coordinate the primary team’s work schedules, including time off and overtime.
  • Interface with and maintain outsourced shop support for nitriding, electrical discharge machining, grinding, and other services.
  • Coordinate and support shipping schedules based on the monthly production schedule.
  • Assist with and provide feedback on shop schedule development and quoting to the Manufacturing Manager.
  • Communicate effectively in an industrial setting and follow company and customer safety procedures.
