The Role
We are looking for a strategic, experienced legal expert to own and define our legal department. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, this role is pivotal in managing our legal challenges and driving our business growth.
With challenges ranging from insurance contracting to IP, and product security to regulatory compliance, you will be the go-to expert for our legal needs. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrates excellent judgment, and efficiently manages multiple priorities. Location
This role offers remote work flexibility with a preference for candidates based in the SF Bay Area, Boston, or NYC.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all legal operations for our rapidly growing, VC-backed healthcare AI company.
- Lead negotiation processes and manage contracts with major enterprise customers and strategic partners, and vendors.
- Analyze laws and regulations, advising on their impact on the business and operations.
- Draft and review legal documents, including contracts and regulatory submissions.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and manage international legal matters.
- Provide expert, ethical, and pragmatic legal advice on various matters.
Requirements
- 10+ years as an attorney, with a mix of big law firm and in-house experience, preferably in high-growth SaaS startups; healthcare background is a plus.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and current bar admission.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate governance, commercial transactions, compliance, and intellectual property.
- Strong contract law foundation with exceptional negotiation and drafting skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, offering legal guidance that supports business goals while mitigating risks.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and influence at all levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technical, and mission-focused environment.
