Requirements
  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent and basic knowledge of computer hardware and components, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities
  • Comply with data center business unit policies, procedures, deadlines, security procedures, data management procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Review Process Change Notifications and develop an understanding of their impact on work execution.
  • Complete assigned tickets efficiently and in alignment with relevant Key Performance Indicators.
  • Prepare, install, diagnose, troubleshoot, replace, and decommission IT data center technologies and equipment under established procedures and guidance.
  • Escort third-party vendors or IT support at data centers or network sites when assigned, and report physical security access concerns or incidents.
  • Participate in daily safety briefings, complete Environmental and Health Safety training and Task Hazard Analyses, use required equipment and Personal Protective Equipment, and report safety concerns, near misses, and incidents.
  • Share information across shifts and technician teams, participate in team meetings, and support effective handovers of ticketed work.
  • Develop understanding of cross-functional data center processes to support internal and external stakeholders.
  • Complete assigned training in areas such as break-fix, deployment, simple change, decommissioning, and IT critical environment operations.
  • Maintain awareness of Key Performance Indicators through reporting dashboards and systems.
  • Escalate or seek guidance regarding client interactions, technical issues, and safety-related incidents.
  • Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify technical issues and replace faulty components in network, storage, or server equipment.
  • Verify grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and Network Design Templates.
  • Prepare, stage, set up, and perform basic startups and shutdowns for hardware such as racks, hard drives, and switches according to written instructions and standard procedures.
  • Participate in bridge calls to provide incident-status details and perform on-site follow-up actions when directed.
  • Perform decommissions, simple changes such as memory upgrades and operating system rebuilds, and infrastructure cabling, network, storage, and server equipment refreshes.
  • Process data-bearing devices for destruction or confirm that hard drives, solid-state drives, flash cards, and other data-bearing devices are identified for eradication or destruction.

ChronoScale secures two-year Microsoft deal for 50 MW AI compute deployment

ChronoScale has entered a two-year strategic partnership with Microsoft to deploy approximately 50 MW of AI compute capacity, the company disclosed in its annual report filed Wednesday. The project will use NVIDIA GB300 systems with advanced liquid cooling for high-density AI workloads, with completion targeted for the first quarter of 2027. The deployment remains subject to financing and meeting various development milestones. ChronoScale reported $9.7 million in cash and a $42.6 million working-capital deficit as of 31 May. The company has access to a $100 million promissory note from parent firm Applied Digital, with $93 million undrawn. ChronoScale reported fiscal 2026 revenue of $71.6 million, down 15% year-on-year, primarily due to a customer loss in December 2024. Operating loss narrowed to $37.5 million from $55.3 million.
