TerraCycle launches national vape device recycling service to tackle America's growing waste challenge

TerraCycle Commercial has launched a nationwide collection and recycling service for nicotine vape devices in the United States. The service addresses what the company describes as one of America's fastest-growing waste management challenges. The turnkey solution allows households, municipalities, schools, and businesses to collect and recycle used vape devices. Collection containers are available in three sizes, holding between 30 and 155 devices. The price includes device recycling, containers, shipping, and nicotine pod disposal through incineration. According to a PIRG report cited in the announcement, fires in waste facilities caused by improperly disposed vape devices cost at least $95 million annually in the US. The lithium-ion batteries in vapes pose fire hazards in waste processing facilities. TerraCycle's VapeCycle programme is already active in New Zealand, where it has collected over one million devices. The company operates across 18 countries, providing recycling solutions for difficult-to-recycle materials.

Keep America Beautiful recycling pilot shows strong results at Grand Teton National Park.

Keep America Beautiful recycling pilot shows strong results at Grand Teton National Park. Collaboration with TerraCycle(R) and Grand Teton Lodge Company(R), with support from the National Park Foundation, helped reduce landfilled waste, improve diversion, and create new recycling options for hard-to-recycle materials. Photo credit: jennifer hoffman, Keep manatee beautiful. JACKSON, WY June 15, 2026 - Keep America Beautiful, TerraCycle, and Grand Teton Lodge Company today announced strong first-season results from a recycling pilot program at Grand Teton National Park, demonstrating how highly visible recycling infrastructure, public education, and public-private collaboration can help improve waste diversion in one of the nation's most visited natural spaces. Launched in 2025 with support from a grant from the National Park Foundation, the pilot introduced a 20-foot recycling station at Colter Bay Village, along with new collection options for hard-to-recycle materials, fishing line and cigarette butts. The project was designed to make recycling simpler and more accessible for park visitors while reducing landfill dependence and supporting responsible stewardship in the park. Initial study data suggest the pilot contributed to a reduction in landfilled waste, even as overall park waste increased and Grand Teton National Park experienced rising visitation. The park reached its highest non-COVID-impacted visitation peak in 2025, with visitation trending upward by over 170,000 additional visitors. Despite the increased number of visitors, the recycling pilot was associated with a 15% increase in waste being recycled or composted, alongside a decrease in waste going to the landfill. The campground where the recycling station was installed, Colter Bay Village, also saw significantly greater reductions in landfill waste than other campgrounds at Grand Teton National Park, more than six times greater reduction than a comparison site in the park. "National parks are among America's most treasured places, and they also face very real waste and recycling challenges, especially as visitation grows," said David Wheeler, Vice President, National Partnerships at Keep America Beautiful. "This pilot shows that when we make recycling easier, more visible and more intuitive, people respond. It is an important first step in expanding practical recycling solutions that help protect beautiful places like Grand Teton, and this approach can be adapted for other public spaces across the country." The centerpiece of the pilot was a bear-resistant recycling station with clearly marked slots and easy-to-read signage to help visitors sort traditional recyclables such as aluminum cans, glass bottles, and cardboard. Those materials were recycled through Grand Teton National Park's municipal recycling service. The station - constructed out of a converted shipping container - also created new diversion pathways for hard-to-recycle materials including snack and candy wrappers, rigid plastic, and flexible plastic packaging. Through TerraCycle's work, more than 3,400 pounds of hard-to-recycle materials were collected at the recycling station and were recycled. Based on standard product mass, that amount represents tens of thousands of hard-to-recycle items, many of them plastic, recycled into raw materials used to manufacture new products, rather than sent to a landfill. "This collaboration shows what is possible when recycling solutions are designed around real-world visitor behavior," said Eric Ascalon, Global Director of Community Affairs at TerraCycle. "Hard-to-recycle materials are often left out of traditional systems, but this pilot created a practical way to collect and recycle them in a remote, high-traffic environment. We are proud to help demonstrate a model that can be strengthened and expanded." In addition to the main recycling station, the pilot included three dedicated bins near fishing access points for used fishing line and 30 cigarette butt recycling receptacles to help address one of the most common forms of litter. "This project gave visitors greater and easily accessible recycling options which supports our ongoing commitment to reducing landfill waste and lessening the impacts to our forests and natural habitats," said Gill Beck, Director of Hotel Operations at Vail Resorts, which owns Grand Teton Lodge Company. "The first season results at Colter Bay Village are really encouraging and provide valuable insight into how together we can continue to improve recycling and waste diversion in a busy park setting." The pilot also underscored the importance of education and convenience in improving recycling behavior. The highly visible installation helped visitors better understand what could be recycled, where materials should go, and why proper disposal matters in a sensitive natural environment. While the first season showed meaningful progress, the partners noted that continued work is needed to ensure the model is sustainable at Grand Teton National Park and to identify how it could be adapted for other National Park Service units and public lands. "The National Park Foundation is proud to support innovative solutions that help protect national parks and improve the visitor experience," said Ashley McEvoy, Director, Programs and Partnerships, at the National Park Foundation. "This pilot reflects the kind of collaboration that can help parks reduce waste, engage visitors, and advance long-term stewardship." The Grand Teton recycling pilot represents a successful first step in expanding circularity and recycling innovation within the National Park System. By combining infrastructure, education, specialized recycling solutions and cross-sector partnerships, the project offers a structured and scalable model for reducing landfill dependence and supporting cleaner, more sustainable public spaces. TerraCycle US doubles revenue to $47.6M in five years, hits 10+ years of profitability

TerraCycle US Inc. reported $47.6 million in revenue for 2025, marking 93% growth since 2020 and its tenth consecutive year of profitability. The sustainability solutions company achieved gross profit of $22.1 million with a 46.4% margin. The US subsidiary of TerraCycle, Inc. filed its results with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Revenue growth was driven by demand for recycling programmes, the September 2024 acquisition of North Coast Recycling, and expansion of commercial offerings. Income from operations reached $4.1 million. Following a successful $5 million crowdfunding raise that closed in early 2026, the SEC qualified TerraCycle's offering circular for a $75 million Regulation A offering in April 2026 to pursue strategic acquisitions. TerraCycle US reports strong 2025 financial results.

TerraCycle US reports strong 2025 financial results. The company reports a record $47.6 million in revenue with double-digit year-over-year growth and more than 10 consecutive years of profitability. Published May 19, 2026 TerraCycle U.S. Inc., a Trenton, New Jersey-based sustainability solutions provider, has announced its financial results for the full year, which ended Dec. 31, 2025, as filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). TerraCycle says it has nearly doubled net revenue over the past five years, growing from $24.7 million in 2020 to $47.6 million in 2025, a 93 percent increase achieved while sustaining more than a decade of consecutive profitability. The company says it closed 2025 with $22.1 million in gross profit. "Our 2025 results reflect the strength and resilience of our business," says Tom Szaky, TerraCycle founder and CEO. "After more than two decades of leadership in sustainable innovation, we continue to expand our capabilities and deepen our partnerships. The growth and profitability we've sustained year after year are the product of a strategy that works, and a mission that creates real value for people and the planet." The company says the growth in net revenue was driven by continued demand for TerraCycle's recycling programs and solutions' contribution from the September 2024 acquisition of North Coast Recycling and ongoing expansion of commercial and e-commerce offerings. Gross profit reached $22.1 million in 2025, TerraCycle says, with a gross margin of 46.4 percent, reflecting operational efficiencies and continued innovation in sorting and processing hard-to-recycle materials. Selling, general and administrative (SG&A) expenses totaled $17.9 million in 2025, representing 37.8 percent of sales while supporting a larger revenue base. Income from operations reached $4.1 million in 2025. "These results reflect the discipline of our team and our business model," says Ramy Elsisi, TerraCycle U.S. chief financial officer. "Over the past five years, we've nearly doubled revenue while maintaining the operational discipline that has produced more than ten consecutive years of profitability. Our focus heading into 2026 is to continue compounding profitable growth, both organically and through targeted acquisitions." After launching in the fourth quarter of 2025, TerraCycle U.S. closed its Regulation CF crowdfunding raise in early 2026 after reaching the $5 million regulatory cap in less than 60 days. In April 2026, the company says the SEC qualified its Offering Circular for a $75 million offering, which will be used to pursue additional acquisitions. The Regulation A offering follows the company's 2018 Regulation A raise, through which TerraCycle U.S. raised more than $19 million from approximately 6,300 investors who have received dividends totaling 22-24 percent of their invested capital. 2025 declared dividends will be paid in June 2026.
