Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of standard operating procedures and policies for the Spa and Fitness department.
  • Extensive knowledge of the hospitality sector, especially the upper luxury segment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Raffles brand values, LQA Standards, Forbes Standards, Accor standards, and Raffles Brand Standards.
  • Maintain current professional certification and updated knowledge and expertise regarding wellness.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of personal services performed and revisions to skin care products or procedures.
  • Approved certification by the government.
  • A university degree.
  • Safety-oriented First Aid training.
  • Basic Rescuer CPR certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Spa Therapist.
  • Neat appearance, articulate communication, and good posture.
  • Ability to perform long-hour treatments and support operational tasks.
  • Oral and written fluency in English.
  • Knowledge of the local language.
  • Ability to motivate, demonstrate initiative, commit to professional values, adapt flexibly, multitask, think quickly, and remain courteous and welcoming.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in situations and guest preferences.
Responsibilities
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures.
  • Review daily productivity and operations.
  • Work toward retail and treatment revenue goals set by the department.
  • Communicate guest preferences to relevant departments and coworkers.
  • Perform spa treatments safely, comfortably, hygienically, and professionally for members and guests.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory of products and supplies needed for facials and other treatments, and prepare kits as required.
  • Interact courteously with members and guests and answer facility-related questions.
  • Maintain confidentiality for spa and member guests and employees.
  • Cooperate with therapists and reception in developing project plans.
  • Be on time for appointments and review appointments after each service and shift.
  • Maintain treatment-room supply inventories and accurate records required by hotel and government regulations.
  • Keep aesthetic and personal equipment safe, sanitary, and operational.
  • Host spa fitness-centre guests by greeting them in person or by telephone and escorting them to appropriate facilities.
  • Greet arriving and departing guests by name, inquire about service satisfaction, and maintain positive relations.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area consistent with facility standards.
  • Accommodate guest and member preferences and special requests to the best of the property’s abilities.
  • Coordinate spa treatments with other spa programs.
  • Report dysfunctional equipment to the Spa Director, Assistant Director of Spa, or Fitness Manager.
  • Maintain a spa database for ongoing guest communication.
  • Provide information and literature about treatments, spa therapy, and the facility in person and by telephone.
  • Tour prospective spa guests.
  • Promote hotel and spa packages and promotions.
  • Recognize VIP arrivals in the spa and hotel.
  • Keep the facility in peak operational and cleanliness condition.
  • Assist with reception, boutique and retail, facilities, back-of-house and storage, fitness, studio, and garden operations as required.
  • Carry out other assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Update daily lists and documents.
  • Report maintenance requirements for recreation areas.
  • Encourage spa guest rebooking and correct booking errors with care and urgency.
  • Maintain appropriate ambience levels, including lighting and music, and keep all areas clean and organized.
  • Report security concerns relating to guest safety to hotel management.
  • Restock and maintain supplies and equipment for guests and operations.
  • Follow all safety procedures and practices and lead by example.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the spa and brand.
  • Attend departmental meetings and training.
  • Ensure guest and member satisfaction by prioritizing safety and service.
  • Maintain positive relationships among spa therapists and with external hotel departments.
  • Ensure team members practice standard operating procedures.
  • Extend knowledge of the hotel and its departments.
  • Represent the spa and brand values to colleagues and internal and external stakeholders while maintaining a professional appearance.
  • Support high guest satisfaction ratings in TrustYou VOG scores, LQA, and Forbes evaluations.
  • Drive the guest experience and communication among colleagues to orchestrate smooth guest-sequence delivery.
