- Extensive experience in Strategic Communications, Media Handling, Proactive outreach to other media, Internal communications and Public Relations
- Proven experience in a senior communications role, with a track record of success in developing and executing effective communication strategies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership and team management experience
- Crisis communication experience is highly desirable
- Familiarity with media trends and dynamics
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a cohesive communication strategy across the US aligned with organisational goals
- Identify key messaging, target audiences, and channels for effective communication
- Ensure the communications strategy across UK, US and Australia are aligned
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets and journalists
- Work closely with the editorial team to distribute and place stories prominently to various broadcast and digital partners for promotion
- Oversee internal communication initiatives (MyHub) across the US to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with company values
- Implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and communication within the organisation
- Oversee the organising of internal and external events for in-house (holiday parties) and commercial purposes
- Understand and support the development and positioning of the Mail.com brand in the US
- Craft and distribute internal and external press releases covering editorial and commercial activity to all relevant media
- Oversee the creation of compelling and engaging content for various platforms, including press releases, articles, blog posts and social media
- Lead and inspire a high-performing communications team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members
- Manage the relationship with external PR support when needed
- Work closely with the Editor in Chief in the US and wider editorial teams globally
- Keep aligned with the Director of Comms in the UK office
- Support DMGT parent company
- Work closely with Legal: collaborating on editorial issues, trademark, lawsuits, etc
