Requirements
  • Education: High School Degree or Equivalent
  • Work Experience: 1 year
  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP) and must be maintained
  • Must obtain and maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)) certification
  • Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 1 year of 11/1/2023
  • New Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 6 months of hire
  • New team members who are enrolled or will enroll in a pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacy (ASHP) and/or recognized by PTCB, have 30 days post program completion to obtain certification
Responsibilities
  • Receive, store, and manage 340B-purchased products in accordance with hospital pharmacy procedures and 340B guidelines
  • Maintain proper storage conditions (temperature, security, etc.) and ensure appropriate inventory rotation (FIFO, expiration checks)
  • Track product movement and maintain accurate documentation for internal inventory reconciliation and audit readiness
  • Coordinate the preparation, packaging, and labeling of 340B products for shipment to designated sites
  • Verify all outgoing shipments for accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with 340B procurement tracking requirements
  • Communicate with shipping vendors to schedule pickups and ensure secure delivery and receipt confirmation
  • Maintain records of shipped products, including dates, quantities, destinations, and chain-of-custody documentation
  • Communicates supply issues, problems or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel
  • Ensure all processes adhere to HRSA 340B requirements and internal standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure compliance with DSCSA standards
  • Document all transactions in inventory management systems and assist in routine audits and inventory reviews
  • Report discrepancies or issues with inventory or shipping immediately to the 340B Director
  • Gather and organize financial documents for project analysis
  • Assumes responsibility for inventory management: this includes documenting all transactions in inventory management systems and assist in routine audits and inventory reviews
  • Work closely with pharmacy staff, 340B analysts, and third-party partners to ensure smooth coordination and issue resolution
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to improve process efficiency, compliance, and logistics
  • Support 340B education and training efforts for peers as needed
