Maintain and promote Cytopathology services to both off-site clinicians and in house specialities. Perform high complexity testing procedures required to provide diagnoses for Cytology Specimens. Obtain requisitions from physicians requesting laboratory tests. Examine gynecological, non-gynecological, and needle aspirate specimens. Determine preliminary diagnosis for review by Cytopathologists. Verify test results against accepted quality control standards, record all findings on laboratory computer system.
This position is Monday - Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Preferred Criteria
Required Criteria
- Familiarity with processing and staining slides for screening
- Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university
- Minimum of one year of study at an accredited Cytotechnological school
- New York State Department of Education Cytotechnologist license
