Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience, including:
  • 3+ years with Java & Spring ecosystem.
  • 2+ years with Python-based tools, scripting, or APIs.
  • 3+ years using AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • 3+ years managing engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Proven experience in application production support within a Java-based environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of AWS, Java, J2EE, JavaScript, GWT, React, Python, Hibernate, MySQL, JDK, UNIX, Cron, and Shell Scripting.
  • Experience with source control systems is required.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and release processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-pressure situations, such as critical software outages and emergencies.
  • Deep understanding of incident management, root cause analysis, and ITIL frameworks.
  • Ability to interface well with Professional Service staff and other non-technical members of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make architectural trade-offs.
  • Solid analytical and development skills.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience and ability to work in a constantly changing, fast paced, and deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the Production Support team during critical issues, providing 24/7 support coverage.
  • Managed timely communication and status updates to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the incident lifecycle.
  • Serve as team lead on incident management processes, coordinating rapid responses to software outages and production emergencies to minimize service disruptions.
  • Serve as first line of defense on emergency escalations, providing regular after hours support handling escalations and writing Root Cause Analyses (RCA).
  • Implement proactive Corrective Action Plan (CAP) to prevent recurring issues.
  • Lead a cross-functional Agile team of software engineers and QA in delivering high-quality software features and updates.
  • Lead sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle from design and development to deployment and support.
  • Help guide architecture, technical decisions, and best practices across Java, Spring, Python, and AWS.
  • Engage in Java based coding activities such as code reviews, pair programming, and contributing to features and technical debt resolution.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and DevOps to ensure timely and reliable delivery of product updates and fixes.
  • Ensure smooth production operations, including proactive monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis.
  • Mentor and coach team members for both technical growth and career development.
  • Own and improve team metrics like velocity, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Suggesting and facilitating process improvements including measuring, adjusting, following up, and reporting back on success.
  • Establish and refine CI/CD workflows relative to DevOps and SRE experience.
  • Provide direct technical support for production issues, including troubleshooting, debugging, and implementing emergency fixes to ensure system stability and minimize downtime.
  • Build and grow client trust (whenever necessary) by proving an ongoing value through accountability, proactive communication and transparency, while providing tailored solutions aligned to each client’s goals and use cases. Consistency creates reliability, and the client’s success is MHK’s success.
  • Understand and utilize AI technology to help streamline processes and enhance deployment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in computer science or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in SaaS product development and managing live production systems is preferred.
