IT Integration Engineer

The IT Integration Engineer is a key role, that is responsible for agile software delivery.  The role requires technical skills to build integrations between the Workday HR system and other business application providers on the cloud (SaaS), ERP, and 3rd party systems. You will be working on Integration Workday Support, and supporting the HRIS team, as well as responding to workday day tickets through service now.

The IT Integration Engineer will build, orchestrate, and deploy complex integration patterns between system, process, and service layers as well as interpret and translate requirements to develop the Workday integrations.

The IT Integration Engineer will also collaborate and work within high-velocity software engineering teams, bringing expertise in Integrations, API gateways, and Agile software delivery.

This role is office based in our St Albans Head Office.

What we’re looking for: 

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent or proven years of experience.
• Proven experience with working in Workday HR or similar HR platforms is essential.
• Excellent design skills, planning, integrity, and a pragmatic approach to driving the organisation towards continual success.
• Extensive experience translating business requirements to an effective integration solution.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex topics with precision and accuracy.
• Partner with other internal teams to deliver high quality solutions.
• Experience with building and maintaining enterprise systems like Workday; debugging & monitoring production environments.
• Work with development methodologies, adhering to best practices.
• Working knowledge of Groovy and/or JavaScript scripting languages.
• Working knowledge of Linux, Windows, SQL and NoSQL database systems, and networking.
• Proven experience of software development and integrating with 3rd party APIs.
• Experience working with Development Operations teams on implementing CI/CD pipelines and monitoring/alerting.
• Ability to solve complex problems that combine existing solutions with new code where necessary.
• Proven experience with Workday Integration tool set – Workday Studio, Workday Extend, EIB, Document Transformation, Core Connector, Cloud Connect, PECI, Report Writer, BIRT, APIs, Web Services, XSLT, & Rest URL. Experience in Workday Payroll is desirable.
