RTI to debut AI-enhanced software defined vehicle platform at CES 2026. Real-Time Innovations plans to unveil the latest version of its software-defined vehicle platform at CES 2026, as competition intensifies around tools that promise to accelerate development of next-generation automotive systems. The company will showcase Connext Drive 4.0 in the Las Vegas Convention Center's West Hall from 6th to 9th January. RTI, which positions itself as a leader in safety-certified communication frameworks for SDVs, said the software offers carmakers and Tier 1 suppliers a faster route to modern vehicle architectures. Connext Drive is built on the DDS standard and is designed to smooth the transition between legacy and emerging systems, enabling real-time data exchange without custom integration work. RTI said the new release incorporates AI-enhanced features and introduces what it describes as the industry's first DDS-based SDV toolchain, aimed at helping development teams "shift left" while maintaining compatibility across simulation, zonal architectures, high-performance computing, and telematics. The platform is now deployed in more than two million vehicles and used by over 25 automotive companies. RTI's CES stand will feature a continuous development workflow demonstration spanning simulation, prototyping, and production. This includes integration with Ansys simulation tools for early, hardware-agnostic testing; an adaptive headlamp prototype built using off-the-shelf components while reusing simulation software; and the same system running on automotive-grade NXP hardware to illustrate code portability into production environments. Visitors will also be able to test the new SDV toolchain at a dedicated kiosk. A joint demonstration with Vector will show Connext Drive working alongside the CANoe.DDS software environment to support development and validation tasks.

Making software work with connext drive 4.0. As the traditional model of hardware-centric vehicles gives way to the era of software-defined vehicles (sdvs), software is taking the front seat in driving innovation and competitive advantage. As oems race to adopt new system architectures, they are discovering speed bumps in the development cycles as a result of unanticipated complexities. Developing an SDV is an intricate balancing act: writing, integrating and troubleshooting massive amounts of new code, all while ensuring backwards compatibility with legacy systems. On top of this, every line of code must meet the industry's rigorous safety and cybersecurity standards. This challenge requires a new approach to vehicle architecture - one that can bridge the gap between old and new, and streamline the integration of diverse components and technologies. Now, RTI has introduced connext drive 4.0, the latest version of its popular automotive communication framework. As the industry's first ai-enhanced sdv-ready communication middleware, connext drive is engineered to solve these exact issues. Based on the data distribution service (DDS(TM) standard, connext drive 4.0 introduces AI capabilities into data-centric middleware. This capability streamlines code development, empowering distributed teams to rapidly write, test and deploy the entire SDV stack, all the way from simulation to production. By simplifying the underlying communication infrastructure, connext drive frees up valuable developer time so they can focus on high-value application development. Connext drive 4.0 provides a suite of new productivity tools, including the first dds-based SDV toolchain. It also introduces automotive scenarios with common use cases: zonal architecture, simulation and AUTOSAR integration, high performance computer (HPC), and edge to cloud. To further streamline the process, an advanced AI chatbot is included to diagnose, debug, and even create sample code, leading to increased output with fewer errors. Connext drive 4.0 introduces the first dds-based SDV toolchain for developers connext drive 4.0 also helps oems to meet their safety and security requirements. For functions that demand the highest level of certification, connext drive 4.0 includes ISO 26262 ASIL d-certified connext cert software to achieve this mandate. This component can be used on its own for pure safety functions or as part of the connext drive suite, making it ideal even for mixed-criticality environments. On the security front, new features such as pre-shared key (PSK) protection provide robust protection against external threats and allow for dynamic updates without the need to restart applications. The platform's security is enhanced through domain-trust and topic-trust boundaries, thus creating a fortified system. The latest version of connext drive was developed for oems and tier 1 suppliers to unify fragmented toolchains into a coherent development environment. Using this approach, innovations created during the early design stages can flow smoothly into production, reducing rework, shortening development cycles, and helping teams deliver software that simply works. Connext drive 4.0 will be released on november 20, 2025. For more information, or for a free trial, please visit www.rti.com/drive. RTI Connext recognized as the Gold standard for accelerating defense system deployment. This award validates the key role Connext plays in delivering secure, interoperable, and rapidly fielded systems for the U.S. and its allies SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 21, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Real-Time Innovations (RTI), the software framework company for physical AI systems, today announced that RTI Connext(R) has been named a Gold Honoree in the 2025 Military + Aerospace Electronics Innovators Awards. This recognition highlights RTI's impact - from prime contractors to emerging innovators - in fielding new systems quickly enough to keep pace with rapidly evolving threats while ensuring they remain secure and interoperable. The Department of Defense is placing increasing emphasis on adopting commercial technologies to shorten development timelines and lower costs. Initiatives like DIU and Replicator are designed to bring dual-use technologies into the field faster while maintaining interoperability across programs. At the same time, threats are emerging faster than traditional acquisition processes can manage, underscoring the need for software-first systems that can both field quickly and evolve continuously. "Connext helps programs move from prototype to deployment faster while maintaining the reliability defense systems require," said John Breitenbach, Director of Aerospace and Defense at RTI. "This award affirms our ability to deliver uncompromising reliability alongside relentless innovation, ensuring defense systems deploy quickly and continuously adapt as missions and threats evolve." Connext is used in a range of U.S. missile defense and C-UAS platforms, including Aegis, IBCS, THAAD, and SPY-6 radar, and is trusted by 45 of the world's top 50 defense contractors. Built on the open DDS standard, it provides a modular, data-centric architecture that enables secure, real-time information exchange and the ability to integrate new components without major redesign. This approach allows programs to field capabilities quickly while maintaining the flexibility to adapt as missions and threats evolve. As a Silicon Valley company with deep roots in defense, RTI operates at the intersection of commercial technology and national security needs. This dual perspective allows Connext to combine the agility of commercial innovation with the resilience and assurance required for defense. Looking ahead, Connext is also positioned to support initiatives such as the DoD's Golden Dome, which seeks to integrate sensors, effectors, and command centers into a unified, layered defense. With more than 2,000 deployments across 500 defense programs and 300 autonomous systems, RTI Connext reflects the DoD's broader shift toward commercial-grade architectures that deliver quickly and evolve continuously as missions and threats change.
