Requirements
  • A Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or graduation from an approved Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse program.
  • A current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state.
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines applicable to nursing care facilities.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; read technical procedures; and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to provide care appropriate to residents' age-related needs and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  • Leadership and supervisory ability, including willingness to supervise other personnel.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary to provide quality care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
  • Direct nursing assistants' day-to-day functions in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Ensure nursing personnel comply with facility policies, procedures, job descriptions, and the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
  • Plan shift services, programs, and activities with assigned nursing staff and support personnel.
  • Prepare written and oral reports and recommendations concerning shift activities.
  • Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to maintain residents' total care regimen.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, facility surveys, discharge planning, and care-plan development and maintenance.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents; complete required forms, reports, census records, charting, and incident documentation.
  • Receive physician telephone orders, transcribe orders to resident records and medication documentation, and maintain complete and accurate resident charts.
  • Prepare and administer physician-ordered medications and treatments; verify resident identity; maintain medication supplies and accurate narcotic records; and report discrepancies.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations, determine shift staffing requirements, and make staffing recommendations to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Develop work assignments, provide leadership to assigned nursing personnel, conduct rounds, monitor work assignments, and report problem areas.
  • Ensure nursing assistants and nurse aide trainees meet applicable training and supervision requirements.
  • Provide nursing reports at the beginning and end of shifts and report staffing issues, occupational exposures, fraud, incidents, and safety concerns.
  • Inform personnel of new admissions, prepare rooms, greet and orient residents and families, and coordinate admissions and discharges.
  • Review resident charts, treatments, medication orders, diets, and care plans; monitor residents' physical and emotional status; and notify physicians and next of kin of significant changes.
  • Provide or oversee professional nursing services including catheterization, tube feedings, suctioning, dressing changes, colostomy and drainage-bag care, specimen collection, vital signs, range-of-motion exercises, and post-mortem procedures.
  • Requisition diagnostic and therapeutic services, arrange transportation for discharged residents, and coordinate social and activity programs with nursing schedules.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary treatment areas and work areas; implement infection-control, hand-hygiene, personal-protective-equipment, fire-safety, and disaster-preparedness procedures.
  • Maintain adequate medication, medical supply, equipment, and personal protective equipment stock; ensure safe equipment operation and appropriate hazardous-chemical documentation.
  • Review resident care plans daily, coordinate revisions, and ensure certified nursing assistants follow care plans.
  • Participate in developing and conducting in-service training, employee orientation, clinical supervision, continuing education, and staff development programs.
  • Provide data to the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee as requested.
  • Assist with evacuation of residents during emergencies and respond to emergency call-back requirements as needed.

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion.
