- You have several years of experience within technology and have worked as a product manager for a minimum of 8-10 years
- You are experienced with data-driven product development and are passionate about using feedback to improve products
- You have a background working within, and leading, Open Source technology
- You have a deep understanding of B2B products and understand how to capitalize on organic product growth to fuel B2B product adoption
- You have a passion for tools that are aimed at improving the experience of technologists, including developers
- You are naturally curious about ways to solve problems for your users
- You have the ability to operate independently across multiple teams and can navigate trade-offs effectively within your own work and the work of your development team
- You are an excellent communicator and storyteller and can communicate concepts and ideas in different formats, depending on context and audience
- Lead key initiatives across the Backstage product and establish Backstage as the go-to platform for teams that are delivering and managing software
- Collaborate on the overall direction of Backstage in partnership with the head of product and alongside other product managers
- Define metrics for the growth of Backstage and establish clear success definitions that both empower your team and build conviction in your roadmap
- Work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, data scientists, marketers, and user researchers to build and ship experiences that improve the new user experience and solidify the early stages of adoption
- Clearly communicate product plans, context, and results to your teams and the rest of the organization
- Lead your team in the development of strategic quarterly product roadmaps and annual OKRs that directly lead to business value
- Work passionately to ensure your teams are focusing on the right things, balancing short versus long-term needs, and confidently navigating trade-offs
