- Level 2 requires 3 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree.

- Level 5 requires 20 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree.
- Five years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for a college degree.
- Respond to field requests and draft communications to preserve or support operational equities.
- Communicate and support operational requirements, providing an interface between customer equities at home, in the field, and with other agencies on geographic or transnational issues.
- Manage and track cases; draft, coordinate, and monitor intelligence reports and production; provide timely guidance, including identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Conduct research and analysis using customer tools and databases, and demonstrate knowledge or proficiency in a geographical area or substantive issue.
- Provide thorough and knowledgeable briefings on analysis to customer management.
