Requirements
  • A doctoral degree in a field of study in or related to the field of psychology is required.
  • Current licensure as a psychologist is required by the state in which services are provided.
  • Eligibility for affiliate medical staff membership at various facilities is required.
  • Knowledge of personality dynamics, principles of life span development, abnormal psychology, psychological tests and measurements, DSM-IV diagnostic criteria and methods, basic principles of neuropsychology and health psychology, principles of learning, behavior modification, individual, family and group psychotherapy techniques, and research methods is required.
  • Graduate training and experience should include evaluation and treatment methods with individuals ranging from age 5 through geriatric populations.
  • Completion of 2,000 hours of internship training is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological testing services.
  • Offer individual psychotherapy.
  • Screen new patient referrals.
  • Help manage waitlists to support access to care in the Fairbanks community.
  • Provide short- and long-term outpatient management of behavioral health conditions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Additional related education and/or experience is preferred.
