Requirements
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in underground utility or heavy civil construction, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of pipe installation methods, trench safety, and heavy equipment operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Organizational and planning skills.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct pipe crews in the installation of storm drains, sanitary sewers, water mains, and related structures.
  • Interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate layout and installation.
  • Coordinate daily activities with project managers, superintendents, and other trades.
  • Inspect work for compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project requirements.
  • Manage crew productivity, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and security of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and crew hours.
  • Serve as the channel for communication between the office and field.
  • Train and mentor crew members to improve skills and promote safety awareness.
Desired Qualifications
  • OSHA safety training and certifications are preferred.
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • English and Spanish fluency is a plus but is not required.
