Requirements
- Knowledge and experience working with/for renewable energy developers and investors
- Experience in hydrogen is desirable but not essential
- Familiarity and experience with investment committee governance and processes strongly preferred
- Knowledge and experience of key development risks that should be considered by any investor, with the ability to communicate these risks clearly and recommend mitigations
- Experience with the origination, development, and structuring of offtake contracts (such as power or gas)
- Ability to originate and develop customer relationships
- Project management capability and track record in managing/delivering complex projects
- Experience working with regulators and/or government departments focused on energy (desirable but not essential)
Responsibilities
- Lead the origination of new customer (offtaker) relationships
- Develop and maintaining existing and new relationships throughout the project delivery stages
- Lead development of an origination strategy with understanding of sectors and organisations which are suitable for hydrogen applications
- Identification, screening, and development pipelining of new sites for green hydrogen projects originated either through customer-led or site-led methods (interfacing with the RES team to deliver this)
- Provide technical oversight on behalf of Octopus with core delivery led by RES (with external parties for appropriate roles)
- Negotiate and conclude hydrogen offtake agreements
- Manage the JV budget and other commercial aspects of project development
- Lead the investor/HYRO interface
- Oversee project modelling, valuation, impact of commercials
