Primary Responsibilities:
As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will design, create, and maintain business intelligence (BI) content including dashboards, visualizations, reports, and metadata. You will also design, create, and maintain optimized database objects that support BI content. Success in this role requires effective communication skills, a firm understanding of agile software development processes, and an eagerness to solve technical challenges. NISC’s Business Intelligence Developers integrate agile software development techniques and BI content creation.
Essential Job Functions:
- Create and maintain BI content and database objects of varying complexity within an agile development framework.
- Follow established software development methodologies and procedures.
- Understand data and business processes powering BI content.
- Research & recommend solutions for cutting-edge BI opportunities.
- Participate in requirements and design discussions with stakeholders for BI content of varying complexity.
- Plan, prioritize, monitor, and complete assigned projects.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, product managers, quality engineers, and others.
- May be asked to provide superior customer support to internal and external customers in all aspects of application support including research, troubleshooting, training, ongoing support, and follow-up resolution on change requests.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred:
- 4+ years of related experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of business intelligence and reporting development tools and concepts
- Working understanding of agile development principles
- Working knowledge of SQL, preferably PostgreSQL
- Working knowledge of database objects
- Working knowledge of relational and columnar
- Familiarity with BI data warehouse platforms such as Databricks preferred
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
- Ability to set and manage internal and external Member/Customer expectations.
- Moderate knowledge of business-related software applications and services
- Excellent telephone/email etiquette and an ability to deal effectively with Members/Customers.
- Strong ability to demonstrate initiative & accountability.
- Basic level presentation and training skills.
- Basic knowledge level of the Utility or Telecom industries.
- Ability to organize and prioritize assigned projects.
- Ability to travel as often as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the position.

Education Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems (CIS) or a business-related field or equivalent experience.
