Requirements
  • A Ph.D. in Psychology is required; an ABD in Psychology will be considered provided an earned doctorate is obtained before the start date.
  • Willingness to engage in course design and teach in multiple modalities.
  • University-level teaching or teaching assistant experience.
  • Candidates must be independently and legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization without employer sponsorship.
  • The position requires completion of a criminal background check.
  • Applicants with recent work history at Universities of Wisconsin or State of Wisconsin agencies may be subject to a personnel file review for employee misconduct.
  • References must answer questions regarding employee misconduct, sexual violence, and sexual harassment.
Responsibilities
  • Teach 12 credits per semester, including a mix of on-campus and online courses.
  • Engage in professional development related to teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate in curricular development in the psychology program.
  • Engage in the program’s High Impact Practices, such as Academic Service-Learning, if assigned to courses containing those components.
  • Engage in program service activities such as assessment, scheduling, marketing, recruitment and retention, community partner outreach and recruitment, and other program-related support as designated by the program.
  • Participate in Department business and engage in limited Department service as needed.
  • Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Engagement with professional development related to best practices in teaching and learning, including for asynchronous online teaching.
  • University-level asynchronous online teaching experience.
