Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
  • A current and valid Florida nursing license is required.
  • Current CPR/BLS and ACLS certification are required.
  • Two years of recent nursing experience are required.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • A proven track record of building relationships with physicians, direct reports, and key staff is required.
  • Moderate to advanced computer literacy and skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Assess assigned patients, evaluate nursing care plans, document care, and report symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions and vital signs.
  • Modify patient treatment plans based on patient responses, conditions, and physician orders.
  • Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic tests to assess patients’ conditions.
  • Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Prepare patients for and assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Consider patient age and culture during treatments and provide needed treatment-plan information.
  • Provide psychological support and nurture a compassionate environment.
  • Perform appropriate patient tests and safely administer medications within the scope of practice.
  • Maintain accurate records for medications and treatments in accordance with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and physician orders.
  • Communicate the plan of care to patients, families, and appropriate team members while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA.
  • Use available resources to assist with discharge planning.
  • Plan, prioritize, and adjust assignments to accomplish goals and provide patient care, seeking assistance when needed.
  • Safely operate medical equipment.
  • Serve as a preceptor and assist new staff in providing care and acclimating to the healthcare environment and direct patient care.
Desired Qualifications
  • EPIC experience is a plus.
