What we’re looking for:
Our Human-Centered Design team is looking for a motivated Content Designer to work on initiatives for our mobile and web products.
If you’re someone who believes that language is a powerful tool for shaping user experiences and deeply understands and empathizes with users, you may be a good fit for this role. You’re passionate about advocating for the user in a room full of stakeholders and committed to designing user experiences that are not only functional but also human. Also, in your past roles, you’ve demonstrated the ability to use content to simplify user experiences and enhance the overall user journey.
You’ll work directly with our Content Design Lead and co-collaborate with product, product design, design ops and engineering teams to write, develop, test and optimize UX content for our external facing properties. Your work will ensure content is clear, intuitive, actionable, thoughtful and WCAG 2.1 compliant.
Your day to day:
- Write, edit, and optimize microcopy, error messages, onboarding instructions, and other user-facing content.
- Collaborate with product managers, compliance, and developers to create and refine UX content.
- Partner closely with product or UX design on page layout, hierarchy, interactions and visual tone.
- Work closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather information and requirements.
- Conduct user research and testing to gather feedback and improve content effectiveness.
- Participate in design sprints and agile ceremonies, contributing to user stories and tasks.
- Advocate for user needs and perspectives in all content-related decisions.
- Ensure all content is accessible and compliant with WCAG 2.1 standards.
- Submit and manage translations for web and mobile experiences through a third-party service provider
- Support the creation and maintenance of content within our Canadian Design System working towards scalability across lines of business.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in content design and UX writing.

- Proven experience as a Content Designer, UX Writer or similar role
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a strong command of grammar, syntax, and style
- Portfolio demonstrating intuitive UX copy
- Proficiency with Figma and UserTesting
- Experience working in Agile including contributing to stories in Jira.
- Understanding of user experience (UX) principles and ability to create content that enhances the user journey
- Understanding of human-centered design methodologies and practices
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience using analytics tools to measure content performance and make data-driven decisions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work

Salary range is expected to be between
$60,000.00 CAD - $100,000.00 CAD
