Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field is required.
  • At least five years of networking experience, including significant cloud networking experience, is required.
  • Deep hands-on networking experience with at least one major cloud provider is required.
  • Strong knowledge of routing, switching, Border Gateway Protocol, and modern networking fundamentals is required.
  • Hands-on experience with hybrid connectivity such as Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, or equivalent technologies is required.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code for cloud networking, especially Terraform, is required.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security and network controls is required.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes networking and service mesh fundamentals is required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and packet-level analysis skills are required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Design and operate cloud networking architectures, including VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, and security groups.
  • Build transit hub topologies using AWS Transit Gateway, Azure Virtual WAN, or Google Cloud Network Connectivity Center.
  • Design and implement hybrid connectivity using Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, Cloud Interconnect, and VPN.
  • Architect edge networking, including content delivery networks, global load balancing, and web application firewall integration.
  • Implement DNS strategies using Route 53, Azure DNS, or Cloud DNS with hybrid resolution.
  • Design private connectivity to managed services using PrivateLink, Private Endpoints, or Private Service Connect.
  • Automate cloud networking with Terraform and provide infrastructure-as-code coverage across the network estate.
  • Implement network security controls, including firewalls, network access control lists, security groups, and DDoS protection.
  • Operate Kubernetes networking, including CNI selection, ingress strategies, and service exposure patterns.
  • Build observability for cloud networking, including flow logs, traffic insights, and packet capture.
  • Drive cost optimization by reducing data transfer and right-sizing network resources.
  • Partner with security teams to harden the network perimeter and enforce zero-trust principles.
  • Troubleshoot complex cloud networking issues across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Stay current with cloud networking platform updates and emerging patterns.
Desired Qualifications
  • Cloud networking specialty certifications such as AWS Advanced Networking or Azure Network Engineer certifications.
  • Experience with multi-cloud networking and cloud-to-cloud connectivity.
  • Familiarity with software-defined wide area networking platforms and secure access service edge architectures.
  • Experience with eBPF-based networking tools.
  • Exposure to regulated industries with strict network segmentation requirements.
