Requirements
- Current and unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state to which the employee is assigned
- Nurse Licensure Compact documents: The mutual recognition model of nurse licensure allows a nurse to have one license (in his or her state of residency) and to practice in other states (both physical and electronic), subject to each state’s practice law and regulation. Nurses must legally reside in a Nurse Licensure Compact state to be eligible to have a multi-state license
- A registered nurse must meet one of the following CMS requirements for psychiatric nursing in the home care setting: Master’s degree in psychiatric or mental health nursing; or Bachelor’s degree in nursing with one year recent nursing experience in an active treatment unit in a psychiatric or mental health hospital or outpatient clinic; or Diploma or associate’s degree with two years recent nursing experience in an active treatment unit in a psychiatric or mental health hospital or outpatient clinic
- CPR certification
- Good verbal and written communication skills and evaluation techniques and demonstrated knowledge of clinical skills, judgment, current nursing practices and analytical capabilities
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payor guidelines
- Current driver’s license, agency-required automobile liability insurance, and availability of personal, dependable transportation to conduct home visits
- Ability to assess patient status and identify requirements relative to age-specific needs
- Familiar with general use of computers and related practices including internet, e-mail, navigation of computer desktop, starting programs, managing files and windows, and self-management of online HR services and training programs
- Experience: 1+ to 2 years

- Furnish comprehensive, skilled behavioral health/psychiatric nursing services to behavioral health/psychiatric patients in their place of residence, including children, adolescents, and adults
