Requirements
  • 8-12 years of experience at a nationally-recognized law firm, in-house legal department, or a combination of both
  • J.D. from a top-tier law school
  • Member of a state bar in good standing
  • You can build strong and deep working relationships with internal stakeholders over multiple geographical locations.
  • You are able to understand challenging issues, assess risk, and provide concise, actionable, business-focused legal advice and counsel.
  • You can coordinate, prioritize, and manage deadlines, workflow, and execute in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
  • You are a self-starter with the capability to operate independently and to interact confidently with senior management when required.
  • You have a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage many cross-functional projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
  • Advise on a broad range of corporate and employment matters, including recruiting and hiring, compensation and benefits, leaves of absence, global mobility, pay equity, and diversity and inclusion
  • Develop, review, and update employment policies, programs, and procedures to align with legal requirements and best practices
  • Assist with compensation and equity compensation design, administration, and compliance, as needed, including with regard to cash and performance bonus programs, stock and incentive plans, and any related agreements
  • Prepare and develop U.S. and international employment-related forms and templates, such as offer letters, employment agreements, contractor agreements, and separation and severance agreements
  • Provide support for M&A activities relating to employment matters, including conducting due diligence, negotiating key transaction documents, reviewing employee transfers and separations, and managing post-closing integration
  • Support international expansion initiatives, including drafting employment agreements and policies, conducting employment-related due diligence, and advising cross-functional teams on local legal requirements
  • Guide compliance with ERISA, tax, and other applicable laws and regulations governing employee benefit plans
  • Create and continuously improve processes for scaling legal support for general employee benefits and compensation matters
