Requirements
  • Experience working on, building, and troubleshooting large-scale data center networks
  • Experience working on, building, and troubleshooting global backbone networks
  • Experience working with Juniper hardware (e.g., MX, QFX, EX, SRX) and the Junos operating system
  • Experience working with typical layer-2 and -3 protocols such (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VRRP, IS-IS)
  • Experience working with MPLS, including BGP-LU (RSVP-TE experience a plus)
  • Understanding of peering and transit and their roles on the Internet
  • The ability to function independently on routine tasks and project work
  • The ability to utilize a variety of communication skills and document concepts with a particular audience in mind
  • Strong Linux skills along with experience in Python or any other similar language
  • Experience with Salt configuration management
  • Understanding of overlay and underlay networking concepts
  • Experience with Ansible configuration management a plus
  • Certifications are nice but not required
Responsibilities
  • Take the lead or actively participate in initiatives to enhance processes, products, and services
  • Analyze implications and determine the most appropriate action, even with limited guidance
  • Prioritize tasks and work collaboratively with your team to achieve common goals while making necessary adjustments
  • Plan, execute, and deliver large-scale projects effectively
  • Be responsible for triaging complex issues across multiple technologies within the team. You will lead incident response and troubleshooting efforts and contribute detailed technical content in post-mortems to help prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future
  • Author runbooks, policies, and procedures for multiple technologies within the team. You will be responsible for improving team workflows through improved processes and automation
  • Drive the adoption of monitoring and management standards across multiple technologies within the team
  • Drive the adoption of best practices that improve efficiency and prevent the accumulation of technical debt
