Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • Six to eight years of accounting, finance, reporting, or audit experience is required.
  • Supervisory experience leading a team of three or more direct reports is required.
  • Strong customer service skills are required.
  • Documented leadership, supervision, and communication skills are required.
  • A strong understanding of general ledger accounting, accruals, financial statements, and reconciliations is required.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience working across multiple financial systems are required.
  • Experience influencing outcomes and guiding work through collaboration across centralized teams and local stakeholders is required.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment are required.
  • At least three years of hands-on experience with general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial statement preparation is required.
  • Proficiency with business office machines, computers, spreadsheets, and word processing is required.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for residents and families regarding billing and financial inquiries.
  • Manage a team of Front Desk Receptionists.
  • Serve as the primary onsite owner for accounting, billing, and financial matters affecting residents, vendors, and department leaders.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to answer prospective residents' financial questions and gather financial qualification information.
  • Participate in aspects of the closing process to support smooth financial onboarding.
  • Research, explain, and resolve resident billing questions, including ancillary charges.
  • Coordinate between the community, corporate Centers of Excellence, and Regional Finance to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Manage onsite vendor relationships and respond to vendor questions requiring local context.
  • Partner with the Regional Finance Partner to align community performance and identify additional resources needed for operational success.
  • Provide local insight, operational context, and issue identification to support forecasting, performance reviews, and strategic decision-making.
  • Own onsite accountability and escalation processes.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle Management on billing or account issues that may impact resident satisfaction and coordinate resolution with head office.
  • Support the Executive Director with financial communications, insights, and onsite financial leadership.
  • Review detailed financial results with department heads and help them understand variances, spending drivers, and operational impacts.
  • Guide department leaders on coding, accrual identification, and spend-down questions.
  • Handle physical invoices, including receipt, scanning, and routing to the centralized accounts payable inbox.
  • Coordinate accounts payable accruals with department heads and Centers of Excellence to ensure accurate period reporting.
  • Maintain accurate resident financial records and census data in systems such as PointClickCare and C3LinC.
  • Support system data maintenance, resident financial record changes, and census updates.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant qualification.
  • Experience in senior living or healthcare.
  • Familiarity with PointClickCare (PCC) and accounts payable platforms.
  • Active Notary Commission.
