Requirements
  • A four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or an Engineering Technology degree is required.
  • Three to five years of engineering design or problem-solving experience with commercial or industrial equipment or processes is required.
  • One to two years of CAD design experience using SolidWorks or Creo is required.
  • Experience with 3D CAD design and detailing using SolidWorks, Inventor, or Creo is required.
  • Experience with CAD, finite element analysis, failure mode and effects analysis, stress, displacement, thermal analysis, design for manufacture and assembly, tolerance analysis, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is required.
  • Experience with technical communication, including email, technical writing, presentations, and meetings, is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Experience developing and communicating project progress is required.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes including CNC machining, milling, turning, sheet metal manufacturing, welding, plastics processing, costing, and finishing is required.
  • The candidate must be a U.S. person.
  • The candidate must be able to travel fewer than five days per year as required.
Responsibilities
  • Generate designs and manufacturing drawings using CAD and other tools while adhering to customer specifications and defined cost, quality, and delivery parameters.
  • Provide concepts and drawings in analog and digital formats.
  • Provide engineering analysis to support manufacturing, design, and process development.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanical power transmission, fluid power, mechanical components, fabrication, and basic automation to design and development.
  • Work with cross-disciplinary teams to solve product design, manufacturing, and process problems.
  • Respond quickly and professionally while adhering to delivery requirements.
  • Participate in customer meetings and travel as required.
  • Develop solutions and implement design options with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams.
  • Support prototyping and process development through hands-on assembly and testing.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems and software is preferred.
