Requirements
  • A current New Hampshire Registered Nurse license is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients within an assigned hospital unit and carry out orders from the provider responsible for each patient's medical care.
  • Provide comprehensive clinical documentation, including care plans, during each shift.
  • Seek feedback about nursing practice and take appropriate action.
  • Communicate patient information for continuity and safe care through bedside shift reports, multidisciplinary rounds, and hourly rounding using AIDET.
  • Complete unit-specific competencies and requirements.
  • Complete all assigned Net Learning modules within the identified timeframe.
  • Help promote a culture of well-being, including reducing alarm fatigue.
  • Promote a positive culture and atmosphere within the department each shift.
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established procedures and protocols.
  • Identify and help correct patient-care safety issues.
  • Work within the Just Culture environment to promote error reporting and adoption of safe practices.
  • Address issues through appropriate use of the chain of command.
  • Participate in daily unit-based safety huddles.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of the organization's overall strategic plan.
  • Remain up to date with unit-based nurse-sensitive indicators, including CAUTI, CLABSI, C. difficile, HAPU, falls, hand hygiene, and VAE.
  • Actively participate in quality initiatives and performance improvement to improve patient outcomes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Basic dysrhythmia knowledge, either currently or obtained before completing orientation.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute training, either currently or obtained before completing orientation.
  • Graduation from an approved nursing program.
