Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience (10+ years)
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or analytics, including at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial capacity
  • 6+ years of experience modeling, querying and analyzing large datasets using SQL
  • 6+ years ETL/ELT experience
  • Strong background in Fabric and Azure development including PySpark Notebooks, T-SQL, C#, REST API Ingestion, and HTML
  • Comfortable building, integrating, troubleshooting pipelines
  • Self-starter who can roll up their sleeves and drive solutions independently
  • Superior communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities; able to bridge technical and business conversations
  • Track record of mentoring and developing technical talent
Responsibilities
  • Architect and Lead Implementation of Lakehouse Solutions: Design, build, and optimize scalable Lakehouse architectures on Azure with a focus on integrating data warehouse and data lake paradigms.
  • Lead the implementation of end-to-end data pipelines leveraging Microsoft Data Factory (ADF) and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Establish frameworks and best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.
  • Manage and Mentor Data Engineering Teams: Direct, coach, and develop a high-performing team of data engineers, and analysts.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and innovation within the team.
  • Oversee resource planning, performance management, and skill development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Business and Technical Stakeholders: Engage with business leaders, data scientists, analysts, and IT teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks within the Microsoft ecosystem (Databricks, Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Power BI, etc.).
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize performance, reduce costs, and accelerate time-to-insight.
  • Champion automation, CI/CD, and DevOps principles in data engineering workflows.
  • Data Architecture and Engineering Excellence: Translate complex business requirements into scalable data models and pipelines, leveraging Fabric’s robust capabilities such as Dataflows, Pipelines, Notebooks, and Lakehouses.
  • Define standards for data modeling, version control, and documentation across projects.
  • Integrate on-premises and cloud-native data sources, ensuring seamless data movement and transformation.
