Requirements
  • You have a Bachelor's degree, with emphasis in accounting or finance
  • Active CPA license
  • You have 10 years of work experience in accounting
  • You have 5+ years public accounting, including integrated audits, in Big 4 or national firm
  • You have demonstrated proven success in developing and leading a team of people using a collaborative management style in a public company environment
  • You have a demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others
Responsibilities
  • Develop financial policies for technical accounting and internal control requirements
  • Maintain and update technical accounting position memos that currently exist, and document new position memos as new transactions or accounting pronouncements arise including revenue, leases, debt and equity, goodwill impairment, business combinations and inventory
  • Provide guidance on technical accounting regarding mergers and acquisitions. Assist with due diligence and integration of mergers and acquisitions
  • Work with internal and external auditors during the annual audits and quarterly review process to ensure timely completion of procedures
  • Responsible for educating and training accounting and broader organization on technical accounting matters
  • Oversee complex accounting reconciliations for revenue recognition
  • Collaborate with Controller, operational and government accounting team on monthly close process, ensuring timely delivery of financial results in compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Manage, coach, mentor and develop staff
Desired Qualifications
  • You have prior government contracting experience and are familiar with FARs/DFARS and CAS requirements
  • You have merger & acquisition and integration accounting experience
  • You are adept at prioritization, responsiveness and understanding a sense of urgency
  • Ability to balance multiple projects concurrently
  • You thrive in fast-paced, rapidly growing environment preferred. Must have ability to roll up his/her sleeves and still enjoy the work
  • You have experience successfully scaling a company to next level growth opportunities
