The Omnichannel Design Service team at Wayfair will be focusing on innovative support for both external and internal users with their designer service journeys. You’ll be leading the discovery, architectural design, development, and maintenance of the Omnichannel Design Service tools and tailored journeys for users to solve a variety of design and renovation projects to create a space they love.
We are looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer II with a passion for both of UX/UI and backend services to help us build best-in-class experiences, influence the technical roadmap of the Omnichannel Design Service Engineering team, execute on the roadmap, drive new capabilities and stable platforms at-scale, and create significant business outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Build modern full stack React applications from the ground up for Wayfair’s interior design platform
- Responsible for leading technical roadmaps, design, and implementation within highly ambiguous problem spaces
- Propose and own initiatives from start to finish while balancing various technical trade offs including but not limited to speed to delivery, maintainability, system performance
- Mentor new hires and other engineers to help them become more proficient by example, tech talks, paired programming, and other avenues to increase technical efficiency across the organization
- Collaborate with stakeholders across product and engineering to understand pain points and drive initiatives forward
- Leverage data to understand risks, priorities and scope of business objectives and develop near term goals and set technical objectives to meet the engineering and product vision
What You’ll Need
- 5+ Years of Frontend or Full Stack software development experience with experiences in web and distributed system development
- A deep knowledge of JavaScript (React.JS) and its ecosystem. Experience developing reusable and extensible React component libraries for use in large JS applications
- An understanding of CSS/HTML best practice and related concepts at-scale (responsive/adaptive design, accessibility, libraries)
- Experience as a full stack, full lifecycle software engineer with deep understanding of Java
- Deep expertise in gathering requirements from business stakeholders and deriving software requirements in high ambiguity situations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders alik
- A mix of start-up and large-company experience
- Experience with TypeScript, and GraphQL
- A keen interest in the latest trends in engineering and technical leadership
- Bachelor in computer science or another related field

The salary range for this position is $143,550 - $158,400 however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered
