Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 3+ years of industry experience. 1 – 2 years hands-on Cloudera Data Platform (CDP 7.x) “on premise” experience, not public cloud. Preferred.
  • 1 -2 years hands on Cloudera BDR (Backup Data Replication). Preferred.
  • Cloudera CDP components: Cloudera Manager, Kafka, Spark, YARN, Knox, HDFS
  • Cluster size of at least ten hosts
  • Certificate registration and renewals
  • 1 – 3 yrs of hands-on experience in IT supporting and maintaining Linux OS
  • Linux shell script programming
  • LDAP and Kerberos security authentication
  • Infrastructure backup and recovery
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL programming
  • Experience working with Git and JIRA
  • Experience with SDLC best practices
  • Working knowledge of architectural principles, infrastructure engineering and integration
  • Communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-driven, work independently and across teams
Responsibilities
  • Cloudera application maintenance and support
  • Implementing and maintaining Cloudera BCP/DR cluster (BDR)
  • Applying Cloudera service packs
  • Upgrading Cloudera software to new release(s)
  • Performance tuning, cluster resource optimization
  • Design, document Cloudera infrastructure maintenance and support run book
  • Creating, submitting, and tracking vendor support tickets
  • Work with distributed teams (DBA, Operating Systems, Application Production Support)
