Messe Muenchen India and dmg events announce partnership to launch AiX DataWorld 2027. September 3, 2026 The new conference and exhibition will support the developers, operators and technology providers building the data centre infrastructure required for India's secure, AI-led digital economy. Mumbai: As India's data centre market expands rapidly alongside growing demand for artificial intelligence, cloud computing and digital services, Messe Muenchen India, in partnership with dmg events, will launch AiX DataWorld 2027, a dedicated conference and platform with two editions in Mumbai and Chennai for the country's data centre industry. The partnership announcement reflects a defining infrastructure requirement for India's next phase of digital growth: the ability to store, process, protect and manage increasing volumes of data through secure, reliable and scalable capacity developed within the country. The two editions will take place in the latter part of 2027, beginning with Mumbai and followed by Chennai, under the tagline "The Infrastructure of Intelligence." The event is being developed as demand for artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital services and enterprise data processing drives the need for secure, scalable data centre capacity in India. It will bring together developers, financiers, operators, technology providers and enterprise customers with growing computing and storage needs. India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, along with sector requirements and data sovereignty priorities, are strengthening the case for trusted domestic infrastructure. India's digital economy is projected to account for nearly one-fifth of national GVA by 2030, with data centre capacity expected to exceed 4,500 MW across hubs including Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Delhi-NCR, alongside emerging hyperscale and AI-driven locations. Meeting this demand requires major investment across power, cooling, connectivity, construction, computing and cybersecurity. AiX DataWorld 2027 will connect the ecosystem delivering this infrastructure. Powering India's Digital Independence As India generates more data, it will need greater domestic capacity to store, process and manage that data securely. Data centres depend on reliable power, advanced cooling, connectivity, engineering, capital, cybersecurity and skilled talent. AI workloads are further increasing pressure on energy efficiency, thermal management and operational resilience. AiX DataWorld will provide a platform for developers, operators and enterprises to evaluate the technologies and partners needed to expand India's data centre capacity. Bhupinder Singh, President, IMEA, Messe München, and CEO, Messe Muenchen India, said, "India's digital independence will depend on its ability to build and operate secure, efficient and resilient infrastructure at scale. Data protection, artificial intelligence, cloud adoption and enterprise digitisation are creating a common requirement for greater data centre capacity within the country. Through our partnership with dmg events, AiX DataWorld will connect developers and operators with the technology providers, infrastructure specialists, investors and enterprise users required to translate India's digital ambitions into physical infrastructure." Christopher Hudson, President, dmg events, said, "AI ambition is only as strong as the infrastructure behind it. India now has a significant opportunity to turn rapidly rising demand into secure, resilient and scalable capacity. AiX DataWorld 2027 will bring together the investors, technology providers, energy leaders and infrastructure experts helping to shape that development, connecting global capability with the organisations driving India's digital future." Covering the Data Centre Value Chain AiX DataWorld 2027 will combine an industry exhibition, strategic conference, curated meetings and networking programmes. The exhibition will showcase solutions across data centre development, power and cooling systems, connectivity, engineering and construction, AI computing infrastructure, cybersecurity and renewable energy. Exhibitors will include developers, operators, equipment manufacturers, engineering firms, connectivity providers, software companies, energy suppliers, security specialists, investors and consultants. The event will bring together senior decision-makers from hyperscalers, cloud and AI companies, telecom operators, utilities, financial institutions, government bodies and large enterprises across sectors such as BFSI, manufacturing, healthcare, e-commerce, media, logistics and technology services. The conference will address key commercial, technical and policy issues shaping India's data centre growth, including AI infrastructure, power availability, energy storage, cooling technologies, efficiency, renewable energy, investment, cybersecurity, data sovereignty and workforce development.
