  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in general practice, or at least 1 year in a specialist referral hospital.
  • Experience or a strong interest in surgery and/or anaesthesia.
  • Technical nursing skills including anaesthesia monitoring, intravenous catheter placement, blood collection, and temperature, pulse, and respiration monitoring.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A calm, organised approach in busy clinical situations.
  • Willingness to learn and embrace feedback.
  • Participation in a 1-in-10 weekend on-call roster.
Responsibilities
  • Provide anaesthesia nursing for surgical, imaging, and emergency procedures.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including clipping and surgical scrubbing.
  • Perform theatre nursing while maintaining strict aseptic technique.
  • Monitor and care for hospitalised surgical patients.
  • Provide surgical float nursing.
  • Assist with specialist consultations and patient checks.
  • Coordinate patient handovers between departments.
  • Maintain theatre equipment and sterile stores while upholding high clinical standards.
  • Help ensure a safe, clean, and efficient hospital environment.
