  • Successful track record of grant applications
  • Experience managing projects - either as a dedicated role, or as a function of a role
  • Creative vision - the ability to capture complex content and topics, and to illustrate these through prose and through visuals.
  • Familiarity with quantitative research is a plus, but the ideal candidate should have —at least— a frank openness to learn more about it and develop some expertise in this area
  • Outstanding skills in persuasive writing and the ability to present technical ideas in a concise manner for a nontechnical audience
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and understand complex topics
  • Familiarity with issues related to the education sector a plus

This includes targeted funding opportunities for investments in research and innovation, as well as funding that could unlock NewGlobe’s potential to serve additional communities (either in existing countries or in new countries).
  • Attend networking events that are relevant to a specific funding round or call for proposals; this could include in-person kickoff meetings at DFID, or virtual events for other funders; in all cases, gathering key insights and circulating internally with stakeholders
  • Plan, develop and write a range of grant applications - including for private, bilateral, and multilateral funding opportunities
  • Spearhead project management for grant authoring, coordinating other relevant stakeholders who are required for a successful application (including Finance, key experts, and senior leaders)
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organisation, in order to accurately describe key elements of the NewGlobe model, and also to solicit feedback on the most appropriate way to frame our approach to a given call
  • Build a template library of modular descriptions of NewGlobe’s core product suite and methodology, working towards more efficient authoring of future applications
  • Provide creative guidance for infographics and other visual collateral, to provide powerful imagery underscoring key NewGlobe systems and principles; the grant writer will provide the conceptual guidance, while NewGlobe’s Creative team will be responsible for the creation of the collateral itself
  • Author technical communications like blogs and publications to capture NewGlobe initiatives relevant to the broader education policy discourse
  • Navigate NewGlobe’s organisational structure, methodology, and track record - including its academic approach, technology ecosystem, and track record of impact
  • Provide technical writing and review of project materials in a quick, efficient manner.
  • Undertake ad hoc writing projects as necessary
  • . Other duties as required - including similar writing aimed at prospective partners
